Steampunk Widget Folder Glass and Brass Icon by yereverluvinuncleber Steampunk Widget Folder Glass and Brass Icon by yereverluvinuncleber
This is an old-fashioned glass and brass icon designed to appeal to the steampunk mind, I suggest it might be a useful replacement for a folder icon containing widgets or other steampunk stuff - you can of course use it for anything you wish.

This icon is eminently usable on windows/ Mac OS/X / Linux &c. Download at the bottom of this page.

## VOTE VOTE VOTE I SAY YOU LOVELY CHAPS DO VOTE IF YOU LIKE THIS ONE !!! ## - LOGIN TO VOTE ## (Even a one star vote helps enormously ;-) )

This PNG is larger and has more detail so that you can resize if you wish or use "as-is". I will be creating .ICO and .ICNS icons from this later.

Here is just one more over 250 steampunk icons that I have created over the last 180 days (one a day for the next half a year!) that will leave your Windows or Mac desktop looking absolutely spiffing. There is a whole set of the little thingies and I must say they do look very steampunk indeed! They really are a suitable replacement for the boring old default icons that come with Rocketdock/ObjectDock &c.

This icon and the others like it will spruce up your desktop and give it a bit of Victorian class. Compatible with MobyDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, and your default Windows icons.

To View: - You can see all my icons by clicking here: rocketdock.com/user/107284/add…

To Download : - I have created a couple of steampunk icon sets but you can download the main one here:
rocketdock.com/addon/icons/383…

If you want any new icons then just ask! I am always open to new (or old) ideas - please leave a comment, these icons are quite hard to do and a nice comment makes my day.

Rocketdock Installation: In the rocketdock folder there is a subfolder called icons. Move these icons into that folder or create a subfolder called steampunk icons and copy them in there. Then you simply change each of your individual icon images to any one of these. Easy enough.

The only condition for downloading and using is that you leave feedback. Please leave a message and rate the icons as it is the only payment I get for creating this small desktop addition :D

You may use any of my images in your own creations but commercially only with my permission. In all cases I require a credit to the original artist using my name or pseudonym and a link to my own site.

Thanks! Do enjoy the icon.
Download there, that's it, just there. Ooh yes, that's lovely, thankyou.

Sorry, but just wondering how I might download this in .icns format? .png doesn't seem to work on my Mac OSX.

You can't download it in ICNS as I haven't created it in .ICNS format, you'll need to convert it as described below.

Sorry for the delay in responding. All my new icons are delivered in .ICO and .PNG format which suits most o/s. Mac osx is a tadge weird requiring .ICNS.

I will eventually come out with .ICNS version sets soon but for the moment try one of the online converters that will convert a PNG to an ICNS automatically for you. A search on Google will yield a good result I am sure.

Okay, this is a simple one, but in global, where do you find the determination to make all these for free? XD Seriously, it's amazing. ^ ^

I wouldn't have my own experience dictated by anyone, not even Microsoft. I think the current computer interfaces are incredibly old fashioned in that we have been using this 'windows' stuff since the late 1980s. It is time that others accepted that the desktop can be matched to your own personality. That's enough of my own personal manifseto! - I am good at them and they are easy now to churn out.

Honestly, the interface just got boring. They tried to be creative with 8, but.. no.
Anyways, thank you very much for it, at least I can style it a bit without, well, learning how to break Windows. The gadgets are especially awesome, I like the fact you took steampunk for it's meaning and made them all useful. I got addicted to that clock sound every 15 minutes.XD

Me too. The clock chimes are straight from my Grandfather's mantelpiece clock and I find the 15 minute chimes really let me know that time moves... you can mute the ticking entirely from the back end.

Windows 8 is retro. See: [link]

Seriously. I had a problem with being unable to keep track of time when I'm having fun, but nah, not anymore. ^ ^ (I sound like a granny from commercials, don't I? XD)

I know, Windows interfaces story.. Honestly, I'd rather have kept XP or something, because changes are so little significant that it really isn't worth getting used to the new interface. But, yeah, people keep being like "IT'S SO AWESOME, YOU GOTTA USE IT" plus school is being boring about it.. Honestly, I quit paying attention anymore. I have my steampunk theme now and I don't care dundundun.
