Kit 01 Parts to create a media player app by yereverluvinuncleber Kit 01 Parts to create a media player app by yereverluvinuncleber
This is a kit of parts... that can be assembled to create a Steampunk media player widget/app or program.

UPDATED: Now also included are two PSD files so that you can create your own working 'help' and 'about' panels.

It could be used on Windows, Linux, Android, Os/X or IOS to create an app, Xwidget, yahoo widget, rainmeter skin, samurize widget, vlc or winamp skin or used to create any form of graphical interface you choose. The media player could suit desktop or mobile applications. You could create an app or simply use the components in your own graphical creation.

This kit will contain all the separate images I use to create one of my widgets plus a XML file to describe the contents position and function. Except for the XML there is no code within the package just the images.

All you need to do is to add your own code, script, markup language, whatever logic method you prefer to animate the device. I already have some javascript to make this player come alive - if you want this javascript to provide more glue to the kits parts then that can be provided too, you only need to ask - PM me here at DA.

There are existing examples of working apps here:

         lightquick.co.uk/downloads/ste…

         and here:

         lightquick.co.uk/downloads/ste…

You will find links to full instructions on those pages.
Have fun and let me see what you have created.

When you have a working app/widget/plasmoid/program then please let me know as I want to see the result! Good luck to you and contact me if you need help.

CREDIT - You may use any of my own images in your own creations but commercially only with my permission. In all other non-commercial cases I require a prominent credit to the original artist(s) using their/my real name or DA pseudonym and a link to their/my sites. A link to this page using my DeviantArt name on any descriptions would be sufficient.

With regard to the commercial use of images I have incorporated from other artists, permission would need to be obtained from the original owner. All the images in this zipfile should be my own.

I will release all my widgets as kits so that anyone can build them in any type of application, web widgets, rainmeter skins &c &c.

I can't do it all!

They'll even have a bit of high-level logic built in the xml and my javascript to copy/implement if they want to.

I'd love to work for Airfix! They are quite a tough bunch to work for I understand. Their designers used to refuse to make certain things - artistic types...

They are now quite a ruthless bunch of business types - they have to be to be competitive I suppose. Hornby now.

They do seem to be doing quite well now. I buy a kit whenever I can - leads to a lot of unfinished kits though.

Thanks for that, it is a bit tongue-in-cheek and meant to be fun.
If the graphics are used by others then all well and good I suppose.

I'll probably do the others too...
